Understanding your Share Plans Portal

Whether you're new to Sainsbury’s share plans or just need a refresher, our FAQs are here to help.

You’ll need to download the MUFG Investor Centre App from the App store or Google Play, alternatively you can go to oursainsburys.co.uk/shares. Make sure you have your Investor Code (IVC) to hand which is within your welcome letter, you'll also need your post code and surname. You can register using any email address and password. Watch this handy step-by-step video of how to register. If you don’t have your IVC, call MUFG Corporate Markets on +44 371 664 0555 and they’ll happily assist you.

You can add all of your shareholdings managed by MUFG Corporate Markets to the share plans portal. Once you have registered, watch this handy step-by-step video of how to register your additional holdings.

Yes. You will need to add your holding to your portfolio. You can do this by selecting SBRY – J Sainsbury plc, then entering your Investor Code (IVC) which can be found on your share plans welcome letter, your surname and your home postcode. You may have different IVCs for your share plans and shares.

You’ll be able to view your share plan summaries and any other shareholdings you’ve added (if applicable). You’ll also be able to accept any invitations to a new share plan award and make an instruction on your Sharesave plan.

Your current Sharesave savings are held by Equiniti (the previous share plans administrator). You can log on to https://www.esp-portal.com/clients/sainsburys to see your savings amounts and any pending payments. To log into to the Equiniti portal, you should select J Sainsbury plc as your place of work.

If you are paid every four weeks, there will be 13 deductions each year, but only 12 can be added to your Sharesave plan (one per month). Towards the end of your plan, you will have three pending deductions.

All instructions must be placed on the MUFG Share Plans Portal where you can also see your contribution amounts (excluding any pending payments).

If you’re already registered on MUFG Investor Centre, you don’t need to re-register. If you cannot see your share plans you simply need to add your holding to your account. Please see the earlier FAQ (Do I need to add my share plan information).

Your contributions to Sharesave and/or SSPP will continue to come out of your salaried bank account as before.

When you first register on the Share Plans Portal, you’ll be asked to provide your default bank details. These bank details will be used for any cash payments relating to your Sharesave plan/s (eg refund of savings, maturity sale proceeds) and any non-taxable SSPP sale proceeds. Any taxable SSPP sale proceeds will be processed through Payroll into your salaried bank account to ensure that the correct Tax and NI are deducted.

Setting up your default bank details now means that these will be automatically populated for you when you make an instruction on the portal and reduces the risk of you receiving a cheque.

You can update your default bank details at any point by going to your Payment Instructions on oursainsburys.co.uk/shares. You will also be asked to check your bank details each time you submit an instruction.

Changing your bank details on the portal will not update your salaried bank account. If you wish to change your salaried bank account, please continue to update on My HR.
